10. Pikachu (Illustration Rare) – $85.86

Card Number: #173/165
Rarity: Illustration Rare
This adorable Pikachu is pictured strolling through town alongside other familiar Pokémon & characters, which gives this an incredible amount of personality. The combination of one of Pokémon's most recognizable characters and strong Illustration Rare treatment obviously makes it a chase for collectors.
9. Alakazam ex (Special Illustration Rare) – $91.36

Card Number: #201/165
Rarity: Special Illustration Rare
Alakazam has never been so at home. In this fan-favorite artwork Alakazam can be seen hanging out in the kitchen playing with his spoons and honing his magic. Alakazam has always been a chase card in the Pokémon TCG, and Pokémon 151 is no exception.
8. Bulbasaur (Illustration Rare) – $99.55

Card Number: #166/165
Rarity: Illustration Rare
Bulbasaur can be seen relaxing in the first of the basic Kanto starters on the list. Another connecting artwork, he's resting up in a sea of greenery with some blue tinge. This card falls into the cozy category we often talk about. We're also starting to see a trend of Sleepy Bulbasaurs like the one in Stellar Crown!
7. Charmeleon (Illustration Rare) – $104.45

Card Number: #169/165
Rarity: Illustration Rare
Charmeleon stands on a rocky ledge, looking down at another Pokémon we'll see shortly, with flames glowing behind it, perfectly capturing its fiery personality. It may not have the price tag of Charizard, but this mid-stage evolution has artwork that connects the entire evolution line together.
6. Squirtle (Illustration Rare) – $134.99

Card Number: #170/165
Rarity: Illustration Rare
In this Starter Pokémon's Illustration Rare, we see Squirtle playing alongside the shallows at the beach. There may be more power lurking in the depths further up this list. Mitsuhiro Arita has a history with Squirtle dating back to Base Set, and as one of the most prolific artists in Pokémon history, taking on the full Squirtle line just makes sense.
5. Zapdos ex (Special Illustration Rare) – $137.37

Card Number: #202/165
Rarity: Special Illustration Rare
This beautiful Special Illustration Rare features Zapdos bursting from the clouds with lightning branching out from its wings accompanied by his Legendary counterparts, Articuno and Moltres. This card was recently knocked down a spot by Charmander, likely due to the massive surge in Kanto starter prices outpacing others.
4. Charmander (Illustration Rare) – $150.42

Card Number: #168/165
Rarity: Illustration Rare
Charmander is shown looking up, likely at the Charmeleon, in this connected artwork featuring the fire starter from Kanto. Another example of the Charmander line always taking its place as a chase card in the Pokémon TCG.
3. Venusaur ex (Special Illustration Rare) – $155.08

Card Number: #198/165
Rarity: Special Illustration Rare
In a display of humble power, Venusaur can be seen lurking through the overgrowth of foliage, likely stalking the photographer of the photo within the world of the card. Out of the three final stage starter SIRs, this one is by far the most vibrant and colorful.
2. Blastoise ex (Special Illustration Rare) – $195.84

Card Number: #200/165
Rarity: Special Illustration Rare
Where Venusaur showcased vibrant colors, Blastoise is lurking in the dark depths of the water we likely saw Squirtle at in the previous entry. Mitsuhiro Arita never misses with his artwork, and Blastoise ex is a perfect example of that.
1. Charizard ex (Special Illustration Rare) – $477.77

Card Number: #199/165
Rarity: Special Illustration Rare
Of course Charizard is going to take the top spot, and it's the only starter whose entire evolution line made the list. The connecting artwork of the Charmander and Charmeleon lead up to this majestic Charizard soaring high above the volcanic landscape.
