10. Terapagos ex - $12.26
Set: Scarlet & Violet: Stellar Crown
Card Number: 173/142
Rarity: Hyper Rare
This is the gold version of the set's cover Pokémon. Terapagos got its Stellar form in The Indigo Disk, and the gold foil with sparkles in every corner shows it off well. It's the only Hyper Rare in the top 10, and it's a nice way to add some shine to a binder.
9. Gulpin - $12.57
Set: Scarlet & Violet: Stellar Crown
Card Number: 154/142
Rarity: Illustration Rare
Gulpin just swallowed an entire cake, and it looks very proud of itself. The bright pink and green background makes the card pop. It's one of those silly, fun Illustration Rares that collectors love for no reason other than it makes them smile.
8. Milcery - $15.74
Set: Scarlet & Violet: Stellar Crown
Card Number: 152/142
Rarity: Illustration Rare
Milcery sits on a pastel table covered in candy and tiny desserts. It's about as sweet as a card can get. This one pairs well with the Gulpin at #9, so the two make a fun pair of snack cards in a binder.
7. Lacey - $17.96
Set: Scarlet & Violet: Stellar Crown
Card Number: 172/142
Rarity: Special Illustration Rare
Lacey is the only Trainer card on this list. She's an Elite Four member from The Indigo Disk, and the card shows her in a crowded room full of baking gear and supplies. There's a lot going on, so it's one to look at up close.
6. Galvantula ex - $19.44
Set: Scarlet & Violet: Stellar Crown
Card Number: 168/142
Rarity: Special Illustration Rare
Galvantula ex lights up the whole card in yellow and white, with lightning webs reaching every corner. Galvantula is a Tera Pokémon, and the glowing crystals on its back show it. It's an easy card to spot in a stack, and that's a big part of the appeal.
5. Terapagos ex - $34.39
Set: Scarlet & Violet: Stellar Crown
Card Number: 170/142
Rarity: Special Illustration Rare
Now we're getting into the real chase cards for Stellar Crown. This is our second Terapagos, and it's the stained glass version, with blue and teal crystals all over the card. Terapagos is the face of this set, so it makes sense that its Special Illustration Rare lands in the top five.
4. Hydrapple ex - $37.87
Set: Scarlet & Violet: Stellar Crown
Card Number: 167/142
Rarity: Special Illustration Rare
Hydrapple stands in a field of red apples, and its long heads look a little spooky and a little cute at the same time. Hydrapple debuted in The Indigo Disk, so this is one of the first big cards for it. Apple fans will love it, and the red and green colors are a great fit.
3. Dachsbun ex - $70.24
Set: Scarlet & Violet: Stellar Crown
Card Number: 169/142
Rarity: Special Illustration Rare
Dachsbun is a dog that looks like a loaf of bread, so the whole card looks like a bakery, with pies and pastries all around it. I'm not sure how anyone could look at this one and not smile. It's well ahead of every other Special Illustration Rare in Stellar Crown.
2. Bulbasaur - $85.28
Set: Scarlet & Violet: Stellar Crown
Card Number: 143/142
Rarity: Illustration Rare
Bulbasaur relaxes on a sunny windowsill surrounded by houseplants, with a little bird keeping it company. It never fails: a Kanto favorite gets an Illustration Rare and collectors start chasing it. This is a cozy card, and it's the second most valuable in the set.
1. Squirtle - $95.02
Set: Scarlet & Violet: Stellar Crown
Card Number: 148/142
Rarity: Illustration Rare
Squirtle is the undisputed top pull in Stellar Crown. It's cooling off in a little blue pool on a sunny balcony while a couple of birds watch. Squirtle has been a favorite since Pokémon Red and Blue, and that nostalgia keeps this simple, summery card in front of every other card in the set.
Final Thoughts
Stellar Crown puts Terapagos on the cover, but two Kanto starters lead the list, and the fun food-themed cards give it a lot of personality. Paldea ex cards fill the middle. To see how the next big set compares, read our Surging Sparks Top 10, or look back at Shrouded Fable.
